Black Friday 2026 falls on Friday, November 27, with Cyber Monday on Monday, November 30. Before the sales start, let’s look back: which US shops did best last year? Here is our top 5, with what each one is known for.
The top 5 US shops from last year
We looked at last year’s Black Friday week (November 21 to December 2, 2025) and at the US shops that did best through Giftomatic. These five came out on top:
- Amazon: number 1. Gadgets, home, fashion and everyday items, all in one cart.
- Walmart: a one-stop shop for toys, electronics, home and groceries, which makes it handy for stocking up in one go.
- Wayfair: furniture and home decor, a natural fit for big-ticket upgrades and hosting season.
- Target: home, beauty, toys and apparel, a go-to for gifts across the whole family.
- GameStop: consoles, video games and collectibles, a popular stop for gaming gifts.
What to take from this for Black Friday 2026
- Home, tech and gaming lead the way: the winners were shops that cover many categories or one strong niche. Make a short wish list now, so you can move fast on the day.
- Check the sale pages first. Retailers often announce their deals only shortly before the day itself.
- Read the fine print: some deals apply to selected items only or end on a set date.
- Leave time for shipping if the gift is meant for under the tree.
Getting more from your gift card
Got a gift card with a balance left? Black Friday is a good moment to use it, as long as the shop accepts it. Check with the card issuer where your card works. For one example, see our article on the Giftcards.com Visa gift card.
